Arpad Busson was born January 27th 1963 in France. Here Busson was educated and served the national service as medic in the French army. In 1981 Busson moved to New York and worked as a real-estate broker.

“Arki”, as he is also known by, began to study how to invest on behalf of others and then entered the world of hedge funds in 1986 in Paris for Bernard Loze. Busson is also well known for backing the two legendary traders Paul Tudor Jones and Louis Bacon, helping them raise funds to invest.

In 1991 Busson founded the EIM Group to provide fund-of-fund management services to the growing institutional market for hedge funds. . In 1995, Arpad Busson’s EIM had seven employees with $100 million under management. Ten years later, EIM Group had 153 staff in seven countries and were aiming to win new clients in China by opening an office in Hong Kong. By the end of 2006, EIM had $10.1 billion of assets under management.

Over the past 20 years, EIM has built a unique infrastructure able to meet the demands of the most discerning institutional clients. EIM has continually set industry standards on due diligence, selection and portfolio management.

Away from the hedge fund industry Arpad Busson is a founding trustee of the children’s charity ARK (Absolute Return for Kids). ARK raises charitable contributions from the hedge fund industry for children who are victims of abuse, disability, illness and poverty. ARK finances and manages projects aimed at transforming the lives of children in Eastern Europe,  South Africa and the UK through education and healthcare. 10th Anniversary ARK Dinner in June 2011 raised £18 million pounds and was attended by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and more than 1,000 guests.

In 2006, Busson was voted the seventh most wanted person at a party in the United Kingdom, according to Tatler magazine.
